[3063] The people of Arboris have a history of fierce independence. Before their actions in the conflict of 3057,
they proved their mettle in 2308 by seceding from the Capellan Hegemony to protest the rapacious taxes and
debilitating draft imposed by that government to support an unjustifiable war. Though Arboris again stepped
under the Capellan umbrella soon after the end of the Capellan-Supremacy war, neither House Liao nor, years
later, House Davion succeeded in fully assimilating the populace.
During the formation of the so called 'Chaos March', elements of Ishara's Grenadiers landed on Arboris to retake
the planet for the Capellan Confederation. They faced and defeated the under strength Arboris SMM, forcing
them to retreat into the Hardina Mountains. Satisfied they now controlled the planet, the Grenadiers began to
harass the civilian population, hoping to turn up Davion loyalists and use them as examples of the futility of
rebelling against House Liao.
Arboris's citizens refused to accept this treatment. Led by the commanders of the Farmers Freedom Army, a
hastily assembled unit comprised of the members of the local agricultural association, a make shift army seized the
militia's hidden weapons caches and launched their own attacks against the Grenadiers. Hundreds died in the
initial assaults until Arboris's farmers learned that stealthy attacks against individual 'mechs accomplished their
ends equally as well.
Unaware that the populace was successfully defending itself from the Capellan threat, the militia spent two weeks
in the mountains repairing its equipment and reorganizing its ranks at feverish pace. A forced march brought the
militia to the town of Bantor just in time to see the FFA engage the first battalion of the Grenadiers. The militia
quickly joined the fray and helped turn the tide of the battle against the Grenadiers, who fled back to the Arboris
capital of Kansas Plain. The FFA then stunned the militia by turning their attacks against them. Understandably
reluctant to return fire against civilians they were sworn to protect, the militia withdrew from the field. Subsequent
communications with leaders of the FFA informed the militia that they intended to defend the planet from all
outside forces, including the militia.
The situation between the forces remains at a stalemate. Ishara's Grenadiers continue to destroy random targets in
an attempt to cow the population, but receive only sporadic support from the Confederation. The Arboris SMM
continues harassing the Grenadiers and makes regular attempts to negotiate with the FFA, but receives meagre
support from the federated Commonwealth. Both units concentrate most of their efforts on blocking any
shipments moving onto or of Arboris, confiscating and material sent to their enemy and effectively blockading the
FFA. This tactic has had little effect so far, as the Arboris's population traditionally has been nearly self-sufficient.
[3132] Originally colonized by settlers from the Capellan Hegemony, Arboris was settled for its fertile ground.
Arboris has three continents. The largest, Jeruc—named after the scout who surveyed the planet—is located in
the northern hemisphere. Covering over 38 percent of the planet, Jeruc produces the majority of the planet’s
agro-products from its vast flat plains and valleys. The largest plain, Kansas Plateau, is home to the capital,
Kansas Plain, which located in the southwest portion of the continent. Kansas Plateau wheat grows taller than the
largest BattleMechs. In the north and west of Jeruc are the vast Hardina Mountains, which have proved as
stubborn as the planet’s people. The majority of the population is located on Jeruc, where many are farmers or
work to support the planet’s major industry. The remaining continents—Silverado and Bandar—are more island
continents, about equal in size to Terra’s Australia. Here the industries are timber and mineral mining.

When Capellan forces invaded Arboris, the citizens refused to submit to them. Led by commanders of the
Farmers Freedom Army, they rose up against the invaders and through sheer willpower forced the Capellans off
the continent of Jeruc. The former Arboris militia forces suffered the same fate. When the Blakist Jihad came to
Arboris, the population chose to side with a completely new invader rather than deal with a House that had
attempted to conquer it for centuries, aiding the Blakists in hunting down the remaining militia and Capellan forces.
[3132] Arboris was originally part of the Capellan Confderation until the creation of The Republic. Arboris
became part of Prefecture V under the control of The Republic. After the fall of the HPG Network Fortress
Republic was created and many of the worlds under its control were set free.
[3135] Arboris was released from the control of The Republic.
After being released from The Republic, Arboris forcefully became part of House Liao, the Capellan
Confederation.
*[March 13, 3140] The Arborians rise up and rebell against the Capellans, led by a now seasoned Farmers
Freedom Army. The war for control of the planet, and their independence has begun.
